It was a leap of the ages. Michael Jordan, in front of his hometown Chicago crowd, needed a perfect dunk to out-dual Dominique Wilkins in the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest. Drawing inspiration from “Dr. J” Julius Erving, Jordan began his now famous dunk from the opposite end of the court. Dribbling full speed, Jordan ascended to the rim from the foul line and put an exclamation on what is considered the greatest Slam Dunk Contest of all-time. Offered here is a gigantic 30 x 40 oversized framed photograph of Jordan in midair about to slam home his victory. This iconic shot was taken from the baseline with the giant Chicago Stadium scoreboard in the background showing “WILKINS” with 145 points and “JORDAN” with 97. Jordan would earn a perfect 50-point score on this dunk, much to the delight of the hometown faithful and edge out Wilkins to win the 1988 NBA Slam-Dunk Championship. This full color photograph has been signed in silver marker by Jordan across the scoreboard that is above his image. This brilliant piece comes with a COA from Upper Deck Authenticated (BAM31426). Please not that due to the size and weight of this item, shipping costs will be higher.
