Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle signed his name in bold blue marker on the top center of this 10-inch Shenango China plate. The Mick’s Country Cookin’ restaurants saw its first franchise open in Dallas in 1968. Mantle’s restaurant expanded across Texas and to Louisiana and Florida, before shuttering in the 1970’s. While the restaurants have closed, many unique souvenirs from the eateries remain, including this plate. The off-white dinner plate has etched “Mickey Mantle” across the top and “COUNTRY COOKIN’” on the bottom. Mantle inscribed “NO. 7” below his signature.
