Offered is an 8” x 10” vintage 1959 wire photo of Mickey Mantle diving back to first base on a pickoff attempt. HOFer Bill Dickey is visible in first base coach’s box. Reverse has original paper caption reading “Yankees beat Red Sox 3-2” with date of “5/27/59” in several areas, and two sets of text indicating “Mickey Mantle gets back to 1st safely as he was almost picked off.” The distraction worked as current batter Bill Skowron homered to score Mantle. To give Yankees a 3-0 lead. Excellent condition.
