Arguably the biggest upset in heavyweight championship boxing is the knockout of Mike Tyson in Tokyo against Buster Douglas in 1990. At the time Tyson was the best boxer in the world and most feared by all those within his weight division. With a lethal combination of combination punching mastery, explosive power, and an iron defense Tyson was a fighting machine. Despite all of these qualities Tyson fell to the hands of Buster Douglas. Douglas used his 12-inch reach advantage perfectly, moving in and out of Tyson’s range and punishing him with stinging jabs. During the middle of the fight Tyson’s left eye began to swell from Douglas’ piercing right jabs. This photograph shows these two incredible fighters battling for the 1990 heavyweight championship belt in the Tokyo Dome. This 16x20 inch full color photograph has been signed by both Mike Tyson and Buster Douglas in silver marker.
