Offered is a Muhammad Ali signature on a stretched canvas limited edition Muhammad Ali "The Greatest" hand embellished canvas by Pop artist Steve Kaufman. The former three-time heavyweight boxing champion has signed his name in gold paint pen in the center of the 31 x 46-inch canvas, which features a yellow, green, red and blue tone over a black and white photo of the young Ali with boxing gloves upraised. The background is four black and white photographic images of Ali at various stages of his career, with his boxing records superimposed in gold type.  This is one of a series of canvases created in 1999 by Kaufman, who has a similar style to that of iconic pop artist Andy Warhol was developed while he was an assistant in Warhol's famed "Factory" in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Kaufman passed away at the age of 49 in 2010 and left behind a body of work which is highly prized by collectors worldwide. Kaufman has signed his name and inscribed the year “’96” in black marker on the back of the canvas, and inscribed “67/99” below his signature.
