In 1967, Muhammad Ali and Wilt Chamberlain appeared on ABC’s Wide World of Sports for a joint interview with Howard Cosell. The 2 sports legends playfully sparred with each other, discussing a fictitious fight between them, and how it might turn out. With Howard Cosell moderating the discussion, it’s easy to imagine that it would make for entertaining television. This approx. 16X20 black & white photograph captures a moment from that interview, with Chamberlain demonstrating his reach advantage and Ali countering with his defensive measures. Both men have signed this photograph in black marker near his picture. The picture is matted and framed, although the photo itself appears to have been cut and is slightly smaller than the matte it sits in. It appears that a piece of yellow tape has stained the top edge of the photo yellow. The black frame displays some scratching, as well. This item is accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
