Offered is a group of seven vintage wire photos of some of the greatest names in their sports. All are in excellent condition and measure approximately 7” x 9” to 8” x 10” with less than the usual photo faults. Includes: Roger Maris – TWO photos of Maris as a youngster. 1) sitting on a floor with a basketball, blank reverse. 2) dressed as a three-sport (baseball, football, basketball) athlete as a high schooler, AP stamp. However, these images were distributed in 1961 when Maris was chasing Babe Ruth’s record. Rocky Marciano – 1) Rocky wearing a BIG boxing glove, International News photo stamp, missing original paper caption. 2) Rocky signing an autograph for navy man. Blank reverse. 3) Image of Rocky’s manager and two Navy officers. Basketball – 1) Pete Maravich guarding Walt Frazier during game in the 1970s.Original owner stamp on reverse. 2) New York Knicks player fighting for shot under boards vs. Phoenix Suns.
