One of the greatest postseason performers in the history of Major League Baseball, Reggie Jackson claimed five World Series titles with the Athletics and Yankees, and even took on the moniker “Mr. October.” Jackson picked up that nickname for his showing in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series, when he hit three home runs in the Bronx Bombers’ decisive victory over the Dodgers. That epic series, along with Jackson’s seven-game Fall Classic win over the Mets with the A’s in 1973, is covered in this pair of signed World Series programs. Jackson signed both programs in bold, black Sharpie along with the inscriptions “73 W.S. MVP” and “’77 W.S MVP.” The program shows a collage of A’s players with “1973 AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS” in the top left corner and “Oakland A’s vs New York Mets” in the top right corner. The bottom of the program reads “1973 WORLD SERIES” and “Scorecard & Souvenir Program $1.00.” The 1977 program simply features a photo of the World Series trophy on the cover with “OFFICIAL PROGRAM” and “$2.00” in the top left corner. The signed programs each come with certification by James Spence Authentication, numbers “J31850” and “I24720.”
