Someone must have been hanging out by the golf course at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown during a couple of years of Hall of Fame Induction weekends and perhaps at a Brooklyn Dodgers reunion. The first of these two balls is signed by 18 Hall of Famers including Reggie Jackson and Brooks Robinson who share the sweet spot. The 16 others include: Jim Palmer, Billy Williams, Ralph Kiner, Willie McCovey, Enos Slaughter, Yogi Berra, Red Schoendienst, Harmon Killebrew, Warren Spahn, Gaylord Perry, Juan Marichal, Robin Roberts, Early Wynn, Pee Wee Reese, Fergie Jenkins, and a fading Tom Seaver. Most of the signatures are in blue ball point pen but a few are in black and Marichal’s appears golden, most are highly legible and easy to decipher, with exception of Seaver. Official American League Bobby Brown ball is a combination of creamy white and caramel color and has been kept in a round plastic holder. The second ball is signed by 22 members of the 1940s and 1950s Brooklyn Dodgers including Hall of Famers Duke Snider and Pee Wee Reese on the sweet spot, the rest includes: Sandy Amoros, Walt Moryn, Joe Pignataro, Billy Herman, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Don Newcombe, Dick Howell, [George] “Shotgun” Shuba, Carl Erskine, Bobby Morgan, Andy Pafko, Al Gionfriddo, Mickey Owen, Cookie Lavagetto, Johnny Podres, Billy Loes, Randy Jackson Clem Labine, Buddy Hassett, Elmer Valo, and one other. Official National League Bill White ball is in almost new, near white condition and most of the signatures are in dark blue ballpoint pen with a few in lighter hues. Lot has been pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
