The last Major League team to openly embrace the mullet hair style, the 1993 Philadelphia Phillies was a rag-tag, scruffy bunch that lived hard and played hard and were endeared to their equally hard-nosed fans that didn’t have much to cheer about in the previous decade. This Rawlings Official 1993 World Series commissioner-less ball was signed by 26 members of the Phillies championship club including manager Jim Fregosi on the sweet spot as well as: Curt Shilling, John Kruk, Lenny Dykstra, Mickey Morandini, Jim Eisenreich, David West, Kim Batiste, Kevin Stocker, Todd Pratt, Dave Hoillins, Wes Chamberlain, Danny Jackson, Milt Thompson, Mariano Duncan, Roger Mason with an “Acts 4:12” inscription, Ricky Jordan, Larry Anderson, Terry Mullholland, and coaches Mel Roberts, John Vukovich and Johnny Podres. All signatures are in blue ballpoint ink on a clean white ball that has been stored in a plastic cube. This 1985 Phillies team signed ball contains 27 signatures including Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt as well as Claude Osteen, Greg Gross, Del Unser, Steve Jeltz, Darren Daulton, Von Hayes, Don Carman, Jeff Stone, Dave Bristol, Rick Schu, Larry Anderson, Rocky Childress, John Denny, Dave Shipanoff, Glen Wilson, Kent Tekulve, Shane Rawley, Juan Samuel, Tim Corcoran, Pat Zachry, Ozzie Virgil, Derrel Thomas, Alan Knicely, a Steve Carlton (Clubhouse signature) and two others. All signatures are in blue ballpoint ink on and off-white ball with some spotty brown staining. Lot has been pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
