As one of the “enforcers” of the Detroit Pistons “Bad Boys” championship teams of the late 1980’s, Rick Mahorn was a physical presence at the forward and center positions. After helping the Detroit Pistons to their first NBA title in 1989, Mahorn joined the Philadelphia 76ers for the 1989 season. Mahorn would appear in 75 games, averaging 10.8 points per game for the Sixers. Offered here is one of the jerseys worn by Mahorn during the 1989-90 season. Mahorn’s home white mesh Sixers’ jersey has “SIXERS” and “44” sewn on the front in blue and red tackle twill. The front left tail has a “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for PHILADELPHI 76ers Sand-Knit MacGregor” tag, along with a MacGregor Sand-Knit 48” tag and “89” and “2”LB” patches. The NBA logo is embroidered on the upper left chest and the back has “MAHORN” sewn on in blue tackle twill with his number “44” sewn on below in red and blue tackle twill. The V-neck collar and open sleeves have blue, white and red border stripes. This jersey displays heavy game use and Mahorn has signed this jersey in black marker below his number on the front and inscribed “#44”. This jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS (317916) for the game use and has been given their highest grade of A10, plus a LOA from Beckett Authentication (AA13206) for the signature.
