On June 2, 1990, Randy Johnson threw the first no-hitter in Seattle Mariner’s history. Pitching against the Detroit Tigers, Johnson struck out eight while walking six, eliminating his chance at a perfect game. This was the first of two no-hitters for Johnson, the second being a perfect game 14 years later in 2004.

Johnson’s catcher that day was Scott Bradley, a journeyman catcher who spent six seasons with the Mariners. Bradley, the brother of former United States National Soccer Team coach Bob Bradley, received several pieces of memorabilia for catching Johnson’s no-no.

The first is a 23 x 17 inch poster of the Mariners celebrating after Johnson’s no-hitter. It features a box score of the game as well as the next day’s headline in the Seattle Times. Johnson signed this poster in black marker, adding the inscription “To Scott/Thanks for the thrill, may we have another one/Best Wishes/Randy Johnson #51”. The second item is a silver award platter received by Bradley for his performance in the game. Please note that the wood box this platter came in is warped slightly and does not close.
