This has got to be one of the finest single signed Babe Ruth autographed pages in existence. What makes this piece all the more appealing is that it was signed and dated during 1927 - Ruth’s most famous season. Ever the popular attraction even off the ball field, The Babe was offered $100,000 to headline a 12-city vaudeville tour across
the United States. At every stop, Ruth would don his Yankees uniform, take some swings on stage and recite the story of his life. In the years before television and Major League teams only existing east of St. Louis, the fans ate it up. On January 26th, Ruth and company pulled into Salt Lake City for an 8-day engagement at the Pantages Theatre. This spectacular album page was signed by The Babe during his performance there and just months before he embarked on his historic 1927 season. Ruth signed the page in black fountain pen and dated it “Salt Lake Jan 27 - 1927”. The owner noted “GEORGE HERMAN RUTH, KING OF “SWAT” PANTAGES
THEATRE, JAN. 26 TO FEB. 2, 1927” in typewriter below the signature. Page measures 3x5 inches. This marvelously preserved Ruth autograph has not only received the highest grade GEM MINT 10 by PSA/DNA, but it is even pictured on their website as an example for “Sports Autographs”.
