     Offered is one of the game balls used in Super Bowl XXIII that saw the San Francisco 49ers defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 20-16, in one of the most competitive Super Bowls of all-time. 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice was name the game’s MVP as the game was played on January 22, 1989 at Miami’s Joe Robbie Stadium. This football has the Wilson logo and “National Football League San Francisco 49ers vs. Cincinnati Bengals Miami, FL * January 22, 1989” etched on the side panel in black and the Super Bowl XXIII logo and commissioner Paul Tagliabu signature on the opposite panel. This football shows excellent use and has been signed by Rice on the Wilson panel and inscribed “To: Sid Jerry Rice #80”. This football comes with a letter of provenance from Sidney Brooks Jr., who is the son of former NFL trainer Sidney Brooks Sr., who was given this signed and game used ball by Rice. There is also a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AA07635) for Rice’s signature.
