Ted Williams, one of the best pure hitters in baseball history, won six batting titles during his 19-season career with the Red Sox. None was more important than 1941, when Williams became the last player to eclipse a .400 batting average. Williams’ career accolades are myriad, and include two MVP awards, two Triple Crowns, and a staggering 19 All-Star appearances. In 1966, Williams was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
