If not for Thomas Edison you wouldn’t be able to read the letter signed by the great inventor in this regal six-window framed display indoors at night. The most significant item contained here is a “WAIVER OF NOTICE OF MEETING,” signed by Edison in his distinct penmanship and is also signed by his son Charles Edison and associate Stephen B Maubert [sic]. Creator of the first practical incandescent light-bulb, developer of the phonograph and motion picture camera, inventor of the Stock Ticker, Kinetoscope, and the carbon microphone used in all telephones, “The Wizard of Menlo Park,” was among the most prolific inventors in history, holding 1,093 U.S. patents in his name and many more in the U.K., France and Germany most of them related to mass communication and telecommunications. This handsome gold-leaf gilding, 32” x 36”shadow box display case contains the letter signed by Edison, two classic 8” x 10” b/w photo portraits of Edison, two 3” x 5” shadowboxes containing vintage light bulbs and full PSA/DNA letter of authenticity #C84511 in an attractively matted in brown an gold.
