The 1969 New York Mets – the “Amazin’ Mets” – captured the hearts of their fans, improbably winning the World Series just seven years after their inaugural season of 1962, when they lost a modern era record 120 games. Their pitching staff was led by Tom Seaver, who went 25-7 with a 2.21 ERA, and won the NL Cy Young Award, along with Jerry Koosman, who went 17-9 with a 2.28 ERA. Both Mets’ legends are pictured here in this 11 x 14-inch black and white photo pouring celebratory champaign on each other following their upset victory over the Baltimore Orioles in the 1969 World Series. Both have signed this photo in bold silver marker above their images with Seaver adding the inscription “ ’69 W.S. Champs”. This photo comes with a STICKER ONLY from Beckett Authentication (A62508) for the signatures.
