By the time Tupac was ready to record his second studio album, the artist had amassed a steadily growing following on both coasts. While his first album, “2pacalypse Now” featured a more underground and indy sound, Tupac envisioned his sophomore release having a more polished production. In addition, Tupac was joined in the studio by a host of rap and hip-hop royalty such as Ice Cube, Ice-T, Apache, Treach, Digital Underground and Live Squad. Titled “Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z…” and released in 1993, the album spawned two hits, “I Get Around” and “Keep Ya Head Up,” and eventually reached double platinum status. The sales figures and amount of rap luminaries guesting on the record indicated Tupac’s arrival as one of rap’s most respected and influential geniuses.

 In preparation for the “Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z…” sessions, Tupac wrote the lyrics for a track he tentatively titled “Last Word 2.” The song evolved into the track “Last Wordz” and featured as the fifth track on side one of “Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z…” The final version featured hip-hop legends Ice Cube and Ice-T joining in with Tupac on the 3:36 track. This is the original lyric sheet written by Tupac in anticipation for his second studio album session. The lyrics are written in black pen on two pages of cream 7 x 8 ½ inch notebook paper. The pages are in fine condition with some edge wear and its use as a working document by Tupac. This unsigned manuscript originates from a close professional associate of the artist and comes with an LOA from JSA (Z42417) for the handwriting.
