Presented is a vintage New York Yankees “old” Yankee Stadium seat. The Columbia-blue painted wood slats and iron stanchion 20 x 22½ x 31-innch seat is mounted on black-painted iron brackets and is labelled “1” in black stencil on the top front curved slat. It has a 16 x 18-inch fold down seat. The seat back has a 1½ x 3-inch gold metal plaque engraved in black with the legend “Yankee Stadium “The House that Ruth Built” 50th Anniversary 1923-1973 Bronx, N.Y.”. The original Yankee Stadium, located in The Bronx, New York, was the home ballpark of the New York Yankees from 1923 to 1973 and then from 1976 to 2008. The stadium hosted 6,581 Yankees regular season home games during its 85-year history. The ballpark was renovated after the 1973 season, re-opening in 1976, and closed after the 2008 Major League Baseball season. The original Yankee Stadium was demolished in 2010, two years after it closed.
