Arthur Miller’s gorgeous “A Baseball Card That Never Was” series continues with this exemplary canvas artwork depicting what a Dizzy Dean 1951 Bowman baseball card might resemble. Dean’s Hall of Fame career was punctuated by his outstanding 1934 season, where he won 30 games and the National League MVP Award while leading the “Gashouse Gang” St. Louis Cardinals team to a World Series title. Dean, the last National League pitcher to win 30 games in a season, won all his 150 Major League victories before his 31st birthday. He played from 1930 until 1941, making a one-game cameo appearance in 1947 before he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953.

Dean is shown here in his white Cardinals home jersey in front of a sky blue background. A baseball is gripped in his right hand, which is extended toward the viewer. “DIZZY DEAN” is printed in white lettering on a black panel on the bottom of this canvas. This stunning display piece has “A Card That Never Was: Dizzy Dean (1951 Bowman)”, “2017”, and “Arthur K. Miller” printed in black text on the back bottom border. This item measures 26 x 40 inches.
