Perhaps baseball’s original king of the long ball, Frank “Home Run” Baker earned that moniker by leading the league in homers from 1911-14, while propelling the Philadelphia Athletics to three World Series victories. This stately framed, matted piece includes a 3.5x4.5” black-and-white photo of Baker at the end of a perfect follow-through, eyes presumably following the trajectory of another round-tripper. Also included is a perfect signature in blue ballpoint pen – while the Hall of Famer generally signed autographs as “Frank,” this signature contains the more formal “J. Franklin Baker” as it was cut from a canceled check. With the matting, the piece measures 9x12” plus cherry wood frame. This item comes with a JSA/LOA.
