Riddell Pro full size helmet features a 49ers alternate logo that was never used. In 1991, the 49ers announced a prototype for a new logo and helmet design. Instead of the traditional "SF" oval, this new logo featured a stylized "49ers" in white with black and red shadows. However, fan reaction was so overwhelmingly negative that the idea was scrapped the next day. This is a seldom seem protype helmet. One side of the helmet is signed by Joe Montana with the inscription "Unstoppable SB 16, 19 & 24 MVP". The other side is signed by Steve Young with the notation "XXIX MVP". Both are signed in mint blue sharpie. PSA/DNA sticker affixed to back of helmet (T38181). Multiple images available at goldinauctions.com.
