Before he broke through with the Cavaliers and fulfilled his promise as an NBA champion with the Miami Heat, LeBron James honed his skills at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, where he became perhaps the most watched player in scholastic history. This full, home white Adidas uniform with green letters and numbers and gold trim features an Onsports jeresy with tag on the front tail, Adidas logo, ribbon-shaped U.S. flag patch (from 9/11) and leprechaun logo on the neckline. The front reads: "IRISH 23" while the back shows "JAMES 23" and the Adidas logo. The shorts have Onsports XXL tagging in the back, Adidas logo on one side and team logo on the opposite featuring a fighting leprechaun inside a large, green "M." Both items show good use. Included in the lot is an 8.5" x 11" school athletics program that includes a team photo and head shot of the future superstar. It is in NM condition. As a junior with the Fighting Irish, James became the first underclass high school basketball player to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated. By his senior season, he and his teammates toured the country playing the nation's top-ranked teams, with some of the games being televised on ESPN2. Time Warner Cable even tried to capitalized on his budding success, televising games for pay-per-view audiences.
