This bat dates from the heart of Gwynn’s reign as the nemesis of NL pitching. “Mr. Padre” hit a tremendous .349 with 870 hits and made the All-Star team all five years this bat dates from. As such, Gwynn’s Louisville Slugger C263 bat shows heavy game use with a cracked handle. Many ball marks and stitch impressions can be seen on the barrel as well as black ink transfers. Black scuffing can be seen from using a batting tee and there is a heavy coat of pine tar on the handle. The knob and barrel end has Gwynn’s number “19” as well as model spec’s in black marker. Gwynn has signed the barrel above the model number in black marker. Two PSA/DNA numbered stickers (U28085 and 1B05350) are affixed to the barrel. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat GU 8.5.
