An outstanding blue marker signature ("Abdul Jabbar") decorates the upper obverse of this otherwise unmarked, early career gum card picturing a young Lew Alcindor. Additionally, the star has used this "Tall Boy" card's generous vertical dimensions as a canvas to inscribe a list of milestone notations beneath his name scripting: "6x NBA Champ / 2X NBA Finals MVP / 3X NCAA Champ / 3X NCAA Finals MVP / 3X NCAA Player of Year / 6X NBA MVP." The 7-foot-2-inch center depicted on this vintage Topps card (and identified on the piece by his birth name) went on to rule the NBA for 20 seasons. This is a superbly attractive example of an especially desirable basketball signature. Near Mint condition.
