Bucketfoot Al batted .365 with 34 HRs and 157 RBIs, then chipped in 2 more homers in the A's World Series win over the Cubs. His 14" x 19" award is anchored by a superb, black-fountain-pen, full-name signature, "Geo. H. 'Babe' Ruth," rating "9" in strength. The elegant text above reads, "Having considered the merits of all eligible players, it is our opinion that AL SIMMONS / PHILADELPHIA ATHLETICS by reason of his consistent all around performance, is entitled to and is hereby designated to the position of Leftfield on the All America Baseball Team of 1929."
