Shaquille O’Neal was one of the most dominant centers in NBA history and formed a lethal partnership with Kobe Bryant, winning three NBA Titles in a row with the Los Angeles Lakers (four overall), including three straight finals MVP’s from 2000-2002. The 1997-1998 season was a solid season for O’Neal, as he had scoring average of 28.3 points per game and a league leading field goal percentage (.584). 

     Offered is the home yellow Los Angeles Lakers jersey worn by O’Neal during the 1997-98 season and photo matched to the February 4th, 1998 game against the visiting Portland Trail Blazers. O’Neal’s 21 points helped lead the Lakers to the 122-115 victory as the big man played 39 minutes. This is one of the only photo matched Shaq jerseys in excistence. In addition to all of the appropriate lettering, numbering and tagging, this size 56 Nike mesh jersey, with “Length +6,” has been signed “Shaquille O’Neal 34” below the number on the back in black marker and inscribed “2-4-98”. “Lakers” has been sewn on the front of the jersey in purple and white tackle twill. Also sewn on in white and purple tackle twill is Shaq’s number “34” on the front and back and “O’NEAL” above the number on the back of the jersey. The collar and open arm ends have a white/purple/white pattern and the NBA logo is embroidered on the upper left chest. The Nike tag along with the “LENGTH +6” flag are sewn on the bottom front left tail and hand written on that tag in black marker is “2/4/98 PORTLAND”.
