Lot #65: 2019 Mike Trout Game Used & Signed Old Hickory MT27* Model Bat Used For Career Home Run #247 (Anderson LOA & MLB Authenticated)

Description

In just eight full seasons in the Majors, Mike Trout has carved out a career path that has made him the most exciting player in the game today. He was selected as his league’s MVP three times, narrowly missing two more, was voted Rookie of the Year, became a member of the elusive 30-30 Club in 2012 and reached the 200-career home run mark in 2017 at the unbelievably young age of 26. A year and a half later he was quickly working his way to number 250. His 247th career home run came on May 2, 2019. The Angels were playing host to the Toronto Blue Jays at Angel Stadium. Trout had grounded out in his first two at bats of the game before he warmed up with a single in the 4th inning. Coming to bat again in the bottom of the 6th, Trout faced reliever Sam Gaviglio and hit a 2-out solo shot over the left-center field wall to make it 6-2 Angels.

This is the bat Trout used to hit that home run. Trout continued to use this bat until its handle was broken in the bottom of the 5th inning of the May 4 game against Houston. Trout’s Old Hickory MT27* model bat shows awesome game use with a handle crack. The barrel is covered with ball marks, stitch impressions, and white leather ball scuffs one undoubtedly being from his 247th home run. There are cleat marks visible on all sides along with scuffs and abrasions from contact with the ground and other equipment. The handle has been taped with a spiral pattern of colorful Lizard Skin tape and a coat of pine tar applied. To complete this museum-ready gamer, the Angels star has signed the barrel in contrasting silver marker, noting its personal significance to him by inscribing, “HR #7 vs Tor. #247 Career.” With its solid documentation combined with it being used for a specific home run, this bat has everything one would desire in a Mike Trout gamer. This bat comes with MLB Authenticated hologram (JC126266) for the game use and a LOA from Anderson Authentics (4074) for the game use and signature.
