Lot #539: 2019 Albert Pujols Game Used, Signed & Inscribed Marucci AP5P-LDM Model Bat Used On 7/28/2019 For Career Milestone Homerun #650 (MLB Authenticated & Beckett)

Description

Albert Pujols entered the 2019 season at the age of 39 and continued to produce numbers that will make him a first ballot Hall of Famer. Pujols hit 23 home runs and drove in 93 as he continues his march to 700 home runs. Using this Marucci AP5P-LDM model bat, Pujols connected for his 650th career home run during the July 28th home game against the Baltimore Orioles.

Pujols’ home run came in the bottom of the sixth inning against Baltimore Orioles’ pitcher Dylan Bundy. This was Pujols’ 17th home run of the season and was clocked at nearly 400 feet. The Angels won the game 5-4 on a Matt Thais walk-off home run.

As one would expect from the hitting prowess of Pujols, this bat displays excellent game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, stitch impressions and blue ink transfers on the barrel. The upper handle/lower barrel area has a moderate coating of pine tar and there is a mark on the handle that identifies the grain, which has been mandatory per Major League Baseball for all maple bats manufactured after 2009. The knob has Pujols’ number “5” stamped, along with the date of manufacture “07/02/19”, the length “4” and weight “2”. Capping this milestone home run bat is the bold silver-ink signature of Pujols on the barrel, with the inscription “Game Used 2019 HR 650 2019”. This bat comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (VS023117), which authenticates that Pujols used this bat to hit career home run number 605 off Dylan Bundy during the July 28, 2019 game against the Orioles and a STICKER ONLY from Beckett Authentication (P61566) for the signature and inscriptions.
