Lot #3422: Lot of (2) 1994 Tennessee vs UCLA Memorabilia from 9/3/94 Including a Program and Ticket Stub from Peyton Manning College Debut

Description

Offered is a lot of two (2) 1994 Tennessee vs. UCLA football game memorabilia from September 3, 1994, including a program and a ticket stub from Peyton Manning's college football debut. The Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback began his freshman year in the fall of 1994, as Tennessee's third-string quarterback. In the Volunteers' season opener against UCLA, he was one of three quarterbacks to come off the bench after starter Jerry Colquitt suffered a season-ending injury on the seventh play of the game. However, he was not able to generate any offense, only handing the ball off three times, and was pulled from the game. The game program from that day's contest features a color sideline action photograph of former UCLA football coach Terry Donahue on the front cover, and the legend "UCLA Football vs. Tennessee September 3, 1994 Rose Bowl" in yellow and light blue type. The ticket stub from Manning's first college football appearance is printed in light blue and yellow on white cardstock, with the logo for the Bruins' 75th Anniversary season prominent at the top center. UCLA's quarterback, Wayne Cook, hit Kevin Jordan with a 51-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and Bjorn Merten added four field goals leading No. 15 UCLA to a 25-23 win over No. 12 Tennessee. The ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (43249448) which has graded it EX-MT 6.
